Welcome to the Turner Gallery and the art of Jan Turner. Those of you who have visited us  in the historic Georgian village of Richmond, Tasmania will be familiar with my watercolours and  pastels in our Tasmanian Art Gallery.

For those of you who haven't visited us yet, I have been a professional artist for eight years. I studied watercolour under the well-known  watercolour artist Diane Hocking, who at that time had just moved to Tasmania from Canberra, and I am a self-taught pastel artist. My art is in private collections all over the world and as I have my studio attached to the Art Gallery I am privileged to meet the many Australians and overseas clients who have liked my work enough to want to take it home with them.

I hope you will enjoy this  opportunity to browse through the website at the various seascapes, landscapes and still life paintings.

When next visiting Tasmania why not take advantage of Richmond's many B&B's, accommodation, caravan park and cabins. Nestled in the Coal River Valley, Richmond's close proximity to Hobart Airport and Hobart itself, ( less than 20 minutes) makes it an ideal base for sightseeing.

Amongst its many attractions are:- Australia's oldest jail, (or gaol as it was spelt in convict times), ancient Georgian buildings, vineyards and wineries, The Maze, Olde Time Portraits and The Lolly Shop. Wander through its Art Galleries and shops, enjoy wine tastings and winery tours. Please call in and say Hi to us, you might even catch the artist at work!

Alongside my art we have many beautiful items crafted from Huon Pine, Blackheart Sassafras and Myrtle. Look out for our wonderful Love spoons intricately carved from beautiful Tasmanian Timbers and based on traditional Welsh Lovespoons.
